Mizuno Specialty Camps

The Big League Experience, in partnership with Mizuno Canada announces guest coaches for the2012 Mizuno Specialty Camps to be held in August in Kamloops and Oliver.
Throughout the summer  Guest Coaches will include:

  • 5 World Series ring holder Bob Didier (former catching coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks) will work with catchers and hitters throughout  the week.
  • Boston Red Sox scout and former MLB Infielder with the Anaheim Angels and Pittsburgh Pirates hitting/Infielding specialist, Chris Pritchett.
  • Member of two World Series winners with the Boston Red Sox - Orv Franchuk has been a former manager, scout and coach for a number of MLB clubs – hitting and offensive/defensive specialist.  
  • Milwaukee Brewers scout and former Canadian Olympic Team manager and coach, infield, Baserunning and hitting specialist, Marty Lehn.
  • Former professional pitcher for Oakland A’s organization and Head Coach of Pro Baseball Force – Jim Lawson
  • Former coach with the Oakland A’s organization and coach with Team Canada  – Gord Gerlach
  • Arizona Diamondbacks scout and former professional pitcher Doug Mathieson.
  • Anaheim Angels and Oregon State University scout and former player, Don Archer.
  • Former Infielder/Outfielder with the Detroit Tigers organization and 16 year professional player Brian Rios.
  • Former Canadian National Team and Colorado Rockies pitcher Brent Crowther
  • Former 11 year professional LHP,  Joe Sergent of the Florida Marlins organization.

Operating since 1960 and one of the most successful and oldest residential baseball camps in North America, experienced players and coaches make up the staff of counselors and instructors at the Big League Experience Baseball Camp. They give each camper (of all abilities) individual attention, outstanding mentorship and skills training. The camp atmosphere is fun, spirited and professional. Players are developed through positive reinforcement and rewarding, enjoyable experiences in the spirit of camaraderie, team spirit and competition.
BLE Camp Objectives:

  • Teach leadership through experience.
  • Teach the value of good team sportsmanship.
  • Focus on the assessment and development of each individual player.
  • Give players an improved sense of self-discipline and ability to self-assess.
  • Share a passion for the game of baseball.

What is LTAD?

Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is a systemic approach developed and adopted by Baseball Canada to maximize a participant's potential and involvement in our sport. The LTAD framework aims to define optimal training, competition and recovery throughout an athlete's career. Enabling everyone to reach their full potential in the game of baseball and as an athlete.

Manday Grooming was started by us (Evan Ward and Shon Noda) out of our mutual need for better hair products great hair products that kept up with our lifestyle. We wanted products that worked better than anything we had tried, using as may natural ingredients as possible.
