Canada Cup Report - Day 3

August 10, 2012

Rain would cause havoc on Day 3 of the 2012 Canada Cup in London Ontario.

Team BC was scheduled to play a doubleheader, but managed to complete just one game.

Back on Wednesday afternoon Team BC would handle Team Quebec quite easily with an 11-4 victory in the second game of the tournament.  Fast forward to Friday afternoon, and the story didn’t quite have the same ending.

Team Quebec would jump out first in their first at bats, scoring a run on BC starter Kurtis Horne (Sooke).

BC would tie it in the top of the second as Mitchell Robinson (Surrey) would score an unearned run.
The tie was short lived however, as Quebec put up two more runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good off a two run homer by Mathieu Girard (Varennes).

Both starters would go all seven innings as Horne suffers the 3-1 loss.  The BC offense was kept in check, compiling just four hits.

BC falls to 2-2 in the tournament and remains in the second place in Pool A, behind 4-0 Ontario.

On Saturday Team BC will play a doubleheader, the first game against Ontario, followed by a matchup with Team Alberta (1-3).
