BC wins silver medal at Senior Womens Nationals

Team BC won the silver medal at the Senior Womens Nationals held last week in Spruce Grove, Alberta.

Finishing first in the pool with wins over Ontario, The West, and Quebec,combined with a loss to Alberta put them in a semi final game against Alberta and a chance to redeem themselves.

Ella Matteucci (Fruitvale) pitched a complete game shutout for a 3-0 win and a trip to the finals. In the final they battled hard but came up short against a strong Ontario team.

At the conclusion of the Tournament BC placed 3 members on the National Team that will be competing in the World Cup In Edmonton in August.

Amanda Asay (Prince George) Becky Hartley(White Rock) and Nikki Boyd (Surrey) all will represent BC and Canada at the world Cup. Nikki Boyd was also named the Tournaments top Defensive player. Coaches Randy Elrick and Al Forman are very proud of this teams accomplishment and look forward to next years Senior Womens Nationals.
