Baseball BC is pleased to announce the appointment of technical directors to oversee the male and female high-performance programs.
Stacy Fournier has been named the female high-performance technical director. Fournier played in the Baseball BC high-performance program before making the Baseball Canada Women’s National team. She has coaching experience at Minot State University and has been the head coach of the Baseball BC 14U female provincial team since 2016. Fournier currently works for Pacific Sport and is also Manager of Baseball Operations for the BC Girls Baseball Instructional League.
For the male high-performance program, Anthony Pluta and Cav Whitely have been named co-technical directors. A former professional player in Australia in the Padres organization, Whitely has coaching experience at both Douglas College and UBC. He is currently a full-time faculty member at Douglas College. Pluta is also a former professional player. After being drafted as a pitcher in the third round by the Houston Astros, he compiled a 27-22 record in 89 career minor league games. He is the currently Vice President of Marketing and Director of Baseball Operations at Speed Mechanics in Saanich. Both Whitely and Pluta have extensive experience coaching the BC Select team and in various leadership roles within the NCCP program.
