Mathieson Wins Asia Series

November 20, 2012

Aldergrove native and Baseball BC Alumnus Scott Mathieson will always remember his first season playing in Japan.

As a member of the Yomiuri Giants, Mathieson won the NPB title in Japan, and then captured the Asia Series title in a 6-3 win over the Lamigo Monkeys from Taiwan.

During the regular season Mathieson finished 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA and 10 saves in 40 games.  He would strike-out 48 batters through 42 innings.

A thrill for Mathieson was playing his home games at the Tokyo Dome that seats 55,000 screaming fans.
